Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic will host the Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF) 2027, following its participation in the 2026 edition held in Bridgetown, Barbados.
ProDominicana Executive Director Vladimir Pimentel F. represented the country at the forum and received the symbolic handover marking the Dominican Republic as host of next year’s event.
Pimentel highlighted the opportunity to use CIF 2027 to deepen regional integration, attract investment and strengthen the Caribbean’s position as a competitive and resilient destination.
During the forum, he held meetings with the Caribbean Export Development Agency, the European Union Delegation in Barbados, Invest Barbados, the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies and 11 other regional investment promotion agencies. Discussions focused on cooperation, potential investment projects and stronger connections between investment agencies and the private sector.
The forum brought together investors, government officials, entrepreneurs, financial institutions and investment agencies to explore opportunities in areas including agribusiness, food security, the green economy, technology, digital transformation, logistics and transportation.
Pimentel also participated in a high-level dialogue on the future of regional investment, where he highlighted ProDominicana’s investment promotion practices and called for greater coordination among Caribbean countries to strengthen regional value chains and attract international capital.
He said CIF 2027 in the Dominican Republic will build on discussions launched in Barbados and serve as a platform to advance concrete investment projects, strengthen regional cooperation and showcase the Caribbean’s potential as an investment destination.
