The Pakistan Airports Authority has signed two agreements to strengthen aviation safety and air-ground communications.
Under the accord, a new wind shear alert system will be installed at Islamabad International Airport for Rs. 254 million, along with advanced equipment to test and improve aviation radio communications.
The wind alert system will be installed within six months.
Earlier, on October 13, the Pakistan Airports Authority established a pre-departure screening facilitation desk at Islamabad International Airport to facilitate passengers.
The move is expected to reduce the number of passengers being offloaded.
The desk allows passengers to complete their screening and identification process promptly.
Senior officials of the Federal Investigation Agency and Immigration were present at the inauguration.
