The National Road Safety Council (NRSC) has extended its strategic partnership with the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) from three to five years, reaffirming its commitment to advancing road safety awareness and promoting responsible road use across Namibia.
The National Road Safety Council (NRSC) and the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) officially signed the new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at NBC Headquarters on 19 October 2026, formalising the extended partnership.
The renewed agreement aims to strengthen road safety awareness initiatives, particularly among Namibian youth, through enhanced collaboration, coordinated campaigns and strategic media support. It seeks to increase the visibility and reach of NRSC’s road safety programmes, ensuring critical road safety messages reach communities across Namibia. At the recent signing, Acting Eecutive Secretary of the NRSC, Ambrosius Tierspoor, and the NBC Director General, Menesia Muinjo, underscored the partnership’s importance in promoting road safety education and supporting the sustainable development of young people. The collaboration will leverage NBC’s broadcasting platforms to broaden public awareness, encourage responsible road-user behaviour, and extend NRSC’s initiatives nationwide.
By using broadcasting as a key communication tool, the partnership also aims to overcome language barriers and ensure road safety messages reach diverse audiences across Namibia, reinforcing both institutions’ shared commitment to building a safer road environment for all.
