This is the shocking moment a man racially abuses a black woman in a convenience store telling her to 'get back on your boat' before walking out without paying.
Footage shows the unidentified man arguing with several customers at a One Stop in Henley Green, Coventry, before calling the woman a 'black c***'.
The man, who is wearing brown tracksuit bottoms and a red jumper with a grey gilet over the top, appears verbally aggressive and begins swearing at those inside the shop.
The row broke out while he was waiting to be served by staff as he claims in the video there are 'other people standing round talking' behind the kiosk.
The man argues with a member of staff, telling her to 'f*** off' multiple times, to which she responds: 'Don't say that'.
He tells the woman to 'f****** do your job' before other customers get involved.
His attention then turns on the woman recording who challenges his behaviour before telling her: 'Get back on your boat.'
He asks: 'Where are you from, Jamaica? Are you Jamaican?' 'You black b******.'
A woman has been left 'broken' after a man racially abused her in a Coventry convenience store
The unidentified man told the woman to 'get back on your boat' and called her a 'black c***'
The woman filming the encounter tells him to 'go back into your cave' before asking: 'What did he call me? What did you say? Repeat that, I dare you to repeat it.'
The man complains that staff are refusing to serve him and he is then filmed storming off while clutching several items and leaving without paying.
The woman, still filming him, challenges him one final time when he then calls her a 'c***'.
She says: 'Say the other word you called me. Say it.'
He replies with the words 'black c***' as he leaves the store with the goods in one hand and a bicycle in the other.
Another customer is heard saying 'that's not good' before the woman then calls him 'the devil'.
Nicola Salmon, who filmed the encounter, said she feels 'broken' after being racially abused.
The 47-year-old claimed she had been comforting a female employee whose sister died three months ago when the man approached them and demanded to be served.
Ms Salmon said the employee rushed to the counter but the man started shouting racial slurs.
She began recording the encounter when the man started acting aggressively and swearing.
Ms Salmon said: 'I heard somebody saying: "Will you stop the f*****g talking and come and do your job?" He was just being nasty...
'I was not even sure what I heard, and then it clicked. I said: "What did you say?" because I did not even catch onto what he said. I was shocked.'
She described his behaviour as extremely threatening, saying: 'Blimey. What if he had a gun? What if he had a knife?'
Ms Salmon said she has lived and worked in Coventry for 27 years but had never encountered this kind of hostility as people were generally kind and welcoming.
The 47-year-old added: 'I have never had anybody... I have always seen people so warming and kind. I never knew this type of hatred until it happened to me.'
She said: 'It broke me and it made me feel like what is the point?
'If you are living and everything that you are doing is happy and nice and you think this world is safe until you realise...
'I have never believed that nobody would make anybody feel like this, just the hatred to know that my pigment is just a bit higher than yours.'
Police are now investigating the incident, which happened at around 1.25pm on October 21.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: 'We are investigating after a woman reported being racially abused in Coventry.
'On October 21, a man was challenged while attempting to steal from One Stop on Broad Park Road when he allegedly racially abused a woman in her 40s.
'Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone who saw what happened can call 101, quoting log 2372 of October 21.'
