iPhone 18 Pro vs iPhone Duo: 7 Things to Know Before Buying

Compare the Prices Before Buying: The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo starts at $1,999. The Duo costs more for its book-style design and larger inner screen. Buyers should compare storage options and features before spending extra on the foldable model.

Choose Between a Classic Phone and a Foldable: The iPhone 18 Pro keeps Apple's familiar smartphone design, while the iPhone Duo folds like a book. The Duo measures 4.64 inches tall when closed and opens into a wider device for multitasking, reading, and watching videos.

Get a Bigger Screen With the iPhone Duo: The iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch OLED display, while the iPhone Duo offers a 5.4-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch folding display. The larger inner screen makes the Duo more suitable for multitasking and entertainment, while the Pro offers a traditional viewing experience.

Expect Similar Performance From Both iPhones: Both phones use Apple's A20 Pro chip and run iOS 27. They also share key connectivity features, including 5G, Ultra-Wideband, and satellite emergency capabilities. However, the Duo's folding design changes how users interact with apps, making its software experience a major part of its appeal.

Check Battery Life Before Choosing: The iPhone 18 Pro lasted 23 hours and 45 minutes in battery testing, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max reached 34 hours and 31 minutes. Apple rates the iPhone Duo for up to 44 hours of video playback on its cover screen and 31 hours on its inner screen. Real-world Duo battery performance remains unverified.

Consider Design, Durability, and Everyday Use: The iPhone 18 Pro offers a familiar design with Ceramic Shield protection, MagSafe, and IP68 water and dust resistance. The iPhone Duo adds a titanium hinge and a folding screen, giving users more flexibility. However, its larger open form and moving hinge may require adjustments to everyday handling.

Decide Which iPhone Offers Better Value: The iPhone 18 Pro is the more practical choice for buyers who want flagship performance without paying extra for a foldable screen. The iPhone Duo suits users who value a larger display and a new form factor. Before preordering, compare the price, battery expectations, screen size, and everyday needs.
