Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said 417 Ukrainian drones flew toward the Moscow region overnight on October 13.
Most of the drones were “neutralized by air defense forces on distant approaches,” he said. Another 65 drones were destroyed as they approached Moscow. No casualties from the drone attack have been reported.
The Russian state news agency TASS reported that the attempted attack on Moscow was one of the largest since the start of the year. Temporary flight restrictions were imposed overnight at three Moscow airports (Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky).
Kaluga Governor Vladislav Shapsha said 73 drones were destroyed in the region. The attack damaged a school building, two private homes, and one vehicle in the Mosalsky district. There were no casualties.
