Patharkhmah, Oct 12: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated the newly constructed Jirang Community and Rural Development (C&RD) Block Office—also designated as the Block Integrated Development Complex (BIDC)—at Patharkhmah in Jirang Constituency.
In a unique gesture celebrating local youth talent, the Chief Minister invited Under-20 Team India footballer and Meghalaya’s own sports icon, Ribansi Jamu, to perform the official honors of inaugurating the complex. Glad to be back in Patharkhmah, under Jirang Constituency, to inaugurate the new Jirang C&RD Block Office or the Block Integrated Development Complex (BIDC), whose foundation we laid a few years ago. We are happy to have football star from our state and U-20 Team India footballer, Ribansi Jamu to do the honours of inaugurating the Block Office.
The State is investing in modern block offices across Meghalaya to improve access to Government schemes and enable us to serve our citizens better. In Ri-Bhoi alone, over 184 projects worth more than ₹1,847 crore are being implemented. We have also approved ₹4.50 crore for a new Block Office for Mawhati C&RD Block, ensuring that every block in the district has a proper office to serve its people.
Thank you to the people of Jirang for your continued support. The new Block Office and the various development initiatives across Jirang and Ri-Bhoi are dedicated to you and your aspirations.
