Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions around Tank Bund, Necklace Road and Khairatabad in view of the immersion of Durga idols at People’s Plaza, Garden Point, the baby ponds at Jalavihar and Sanjeevaiah Park. The diversions came into effect from 3 p.m. on Wednesday and will remain in place until 6 a.m. of Saturday.
Traffic from Panjagutta and Raj Bhavan Road towards the Khairatabad flyover will be diverted at V.V. Statue towards Nirankari Junction. Only vehicles carrying Durga idols will be permitted to proceed towards the Khairatabad flyover.
Traffic from Nirankari Junction towards Iqbal Minar will be diverted at Old Saifabad Police Station towards Ravindra Bharathi and Masab Tank. Only vehicles carrying the idols will be allowed towards Iqbal Minar.
Vehicles travelling from Iqbal Minar towards Secretariat Junction will be diverted at the starting point of the Telangana Thalli flyover onto the flyover towards Lower Tank Bund. Traffic from the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh lane and Mint Compound towards Necklace Rotary will be restricted. Vehicles will be diverted at Printing Press Junction towards Mint Compound and Rajiv Gandhi Statue.
Vehicles travelling from Upper Tank Bund towards Secretariat Junction will be diverted at the old Ambedkar Statue towards Liberty. Similarly, traffic from Liberty towards Secretariat Junction will be diverted at the old Ambedkar Statue towards Upper Tank Bund. However, vehicles carrying idols will be permitted to proceed towards Old Ambedkar Statue, Secretariat Junction, NTR Marg and Necklace Road.
Traffic from Upper Tank Bund towards Nallagutta Bridge and PVNR Marg (Necklace Road) will be diverted at Sonabi Abdullah Masjid towards Minister Road via Karbala and Ranigunj. Vehicles travelling from Ranigunj and Minister Road towards Necklace Road will be diverted at Nallagutta X Roads towards Minister Road and Ranigunj.
Police have advised commuters to avoid V.V. Statue, Old Saifabad Police Station, Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad Traffic Police Junction, AR Petrol Pump, BJR Statue Circle, Basheerbagh, Liberty, Old Ambedkar Statue, Upper Tank Bund and Nallagutta X Roads during the period, as traffic congestion is expected.
