Greg Olsen could be one of the biggest names on the NFL broadcasting carousel this offseason, with his future at FOX still up in the air. Although initial reports suggested no extension negotiations had taken place, FOX management later confirmed preliminary discussions with his representative, while president Brad Zager expressed a desire to retain him.
That said, until his signature’s on a contract extension, there’s always room for speculation.
Olsen has already proved himself on the NFL’s biggest stage, earning widespread praise and Sports Emmy recognition as FOX’s lead analyst during Super Bowl LVII. However, Tom Brady’s arrival pushed him out of the network’s top booth.
Now, media analyst Brett Kollmann believes Amazon Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football could be a good fit for Olsen. His suggestion sparked a debate among NFL fans, with some supporting the idea and others believing he deserves a bigger opportunity.
NFL Fans React to Speculation Around Greg Olsen’s Potential Next Move
Kollmann believes Olsen’s analytical approach would make him a natural fit for Prime Video’s coverage.
“Considering how analytics-friendly Greg Olsen is, he feels like such a slam dunk future hire for TNF,” Kollmann said.
One fan agreed with the idea but also called for a change in the play-by-play position. “Need Al Michaels out too. It’s sad, he just doesn’t have it anymore,” the fan wrote.

Another fan believes Olsen should aim higher than Thursday Night Football, saying, “Deserves better than TNF. Should be the MNF or top CBS guy.”
Others were excited about the possibility of Olsen joining Prime Video. “I’ve been saying this for about two years now. Greg Olsen doing color on TNF would make the Next Gen Stats broadcast the best the market has to offer!” one fan commented.
Another user also called for changes to the current broadcast team. “(Kirk) Herbstreit and Michaels will hopefully be replaced,” the fan wrote.

However, not everyone expects Amazon to make a change to its current lineup anytime soon. “Maybe MNF, with Joe Buck. Don’t see TNF moving off of Kirk, at least not anytime soon,” another fan wrote.
Media analyst Jimmy Traina made his preference for Monday Night Football clear, writing, “Greg Olsen 100%. That’s it.”
CBS reportedly held exploratory talks with Olsen two years ago. That makes the network another possible destination, particularly if it wants to make changes to its broadcast team. A move could give Olsen another chance to work in a top booth, potentially alongside Jim Nantz.
For now, his next destination remains uncertain. Prime Video could be an interesting fit because of its focus on analytics, but CBS or ESPN could also offer the opportunity he wants.
