DAEJEON — Visitors heading to Daejeon Hana Citizen's home matches in the 2026-27 AFC Champions League Elite will be offered a package combining train travel, bakery visits and football.
The Daejeon Metropolitan Government said on the 14th that it will operate a Korail-linked football and bakery tour for spectators attending the 2026-27 AFC Champions League Elite matches.
The program will run on Oct. 27 and Nov. 24, timed to Daejeon Hana Citizen's AFC Champions League Elite home games.
The city aims to give out-of-town football fans arriving by train a chance to sample the local bakery scene, one of Daejeon's best-known attractions, and then travel conveniently to the stadium afterward.
Any AFC Champions League spectator traveling to Daejeon by Korail train may apply, and participants will be provided with a tour vehicle free of charge.
The tour course, called the Daejeon Bread Rail Tour, departs from the Daejeon Travel Lounge at 2 p.m. and runs four hours, taking in well-known bakeries in the city center including Cold Butter Bake Shop (City Hall branch), California Bakery, Le Pain 99-1 and Yeon Seon-heum Bakery.
After the tour, participants will board the dedicated tour vehicle and arrive at Daejeon World Cup Stadium by 6 p.m., ahead of kickoff.
Each session will go ahead if at least 20 people sign up, and those wishing to join can apply through NAVER's advance reservation system.
Kwon Kyung-min, director general of the city's culture, sports and tourism bureau, said the program lets visitors enjoy the convenience of train travel, the fun of a Daejeon bakery pilgrimage and the heat of a football match all at once.
