Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in ‘Mangal Rang’ song from ‘Ramayana’ X/@TSeries
The makers of Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming epic Ramayana Sunday released Mangal Rang, a wedding song featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Lord Rama and Sita.
Composed by A R Rahman, the song features vocals by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, with lyrics penned by Kumar Vishwas. The track captures the wedding celebrations of Rama and Sita in Mithila, while celebrating their divine bond.
The song was first showcased at a launch event in Chennai on October 22. Portions of the track and the wedding sequence were also teased in the film’s trailer.
The release follows two earlier tracks from the film, Jai Jai Ram and Ravana Tandav. The makers have also released a five-track soundtrack EP ahead of the film’s theatrical release, which also features the instrumental themes Sita’s Aspiration, Jai Jai Ram orchestra version and The Rama Theme.
Apart from Hindi, the soundtrack has also been released in other Indian languages through T-Series' Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam YouTube channels.
Ramayana marks the first collaboration on an Indian production between Rahman and Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer, known for his work on Hollywood films such as The Lion King, Gladiator and Dune.
Apart from Ranbir and Sai, the film also features Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana. Yash takes on the role of Ravana, with Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi.
Ramayana: Part One is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5.
