The Milwaukee Bucks waived Pete Nance on Oct. 17, but a league source told the Journal Sentinel the team would like to sign him to a two-way deal should he clear waivers. The organization had to make a decision to either waive Nance or guarantee or his $2.5 million salary for this season by Oct. 18.
If the Bucks had picked up Nance's guarantee, they would have needed to waive or trade two other players as the team has 16 players already on guaranteed deals. The team has one open two-way contract spot.
The team must get to 15 players by 4 p.m. CT Oct. 19.
Nance has been in the organization since the end of the 2024-25 season. Last year, he played in 47 games and earned a standard contract to end the season.
The club also waived Johni Broome and Jake Stephens, who were on training camp deals.
