Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Bronson Healthcare has launched an employer-sponsored health plan in partnership with Key Benefit Administrators, a third-party administrator.
The Bronson Preferred Health Plan connects Southwest Michigan employers and their employees with Bronson’s network of providers, according to a news release shared with Becker’s. Key Benefit Administrators will handle benefits administration and population health services, including analytics and member engagement. The plan is available to eligible employers throughout Southwest Michigan.
“When people can get the care they need, when they need it, they are more likely to seek preventive care and address health concerns earlier,” Ryan Horn, senior vice president and chief revenue officer at Bronson, said in the release.
The launch comes as other health systems expand into health plans. Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System launched a health plan Oct. 1, and Boise, Idaho-based St. Luke’s Health System will begin offering Medicare Advantage coverage in 2027.
Other systems, including Renton, Wash.-based Providence and Ann Arbor-based Michigan Medicine, have closed their health plans in recent years.
Bronson has four acute care hospitals, 747 licensed beds and more than 9,000 employees.
