The Dominican Republic Embassy in Russia has announced the Start in Moscow program for Dominicans living in the country, an initiative designed to help foreign professionals and technicians find employment and adapt to the Russian capital.
The program is operated by Human Capital Development, an organization under the Moscow Government, and connects foreign specialists with companies seeking qualified workers. Participants receive free assistance with resume preparation, interview training, immigration-related procedures, and adaptation to life in Moscow. The program also offers support in finding Russian-language courses.
Start in Moscow has been operating since April 2024. By September 2025, it had attracted nearly 790 participants from 91 countries, while 398 participants had already been integrated into Moscow businesses. IT, engineering, and business development were among the most popular fields.
Applicants must submit an application and indicate their immigration status. After registration, participants can work with career advisers to improve their resumes before taking part in interviews with companies interested in hiring foreign specialists.
The program comes as the Dominican government has recently increased its attention to the situation of Dominicans traveling to Russia for employment. On October 7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) said it was following cases involving Dominican nationals who traveled to Russia after receiving technical job offers and later allegedly became involved in activities connected to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The ministry said it had formally identified 20 citizens through information provided by their families and had raised the matter with Russian authorities.
The Dominican Embassy in Russia remains available to provide consular assistance to nationals who require it. Its official contact information lists its offices at Mytnaya Street 3, Office 2A, Moscow, with consular services available Monday through Friday.
For Dominicans already living in Russia and seeking legitimate employment opportunities, Start in Moscow provides a structured channel for career guidance, professional preparation, and connections with potential employers.
