Dubai: The Museum of the Future in Dubai has announced that it is accepting applications for the world’s first “Futurists” roles as it prepares to reopen its doors in 2027.
The museum is seeking imaginative, exploratory, emotionally intelligent and adaptable individuals to play a pivotal role in delivering a completely new visitor experience. Centred on human connection, the experience will present a fresh narrative reflecting the museum’s vision for the future. Successful candidates will join the “Futurists” team in full-time positions.
The museum does not require applicants to have previous museum or customer service experience. Instead, its search for “future leaders” focuses on human qualities and abilities that may not necessarily be evident from a CV.
Accordingly, the selection process begins with initial performance assessments. Shortlisted candidates will then progress to direct interviews before a panel of experts and specialists.
The “Futurists” role combines guiding visitors, interacting with them and storytelling. Team members will help turn the ideas and experiences presented by the museum into interactive conversations, making concepts about the future more accessible and helping visitors understand and connect them to their own interests and lives, regardless of age, culture or background.
The museum is seeking excellent listeners who can engage visitors, simplify complex concepts, respond effectively to unexpected situations and adapt their communication style to different personalities, ages and backgrounds.
Those selected will join the “Futurists” team in full-time positions starting in November 2026. They will accompany visitors from around the world on their journey through the museum, helping them explore themes spanning science, technology, nature, society and the future.
Since opening in 2022, the museum has welcomed more than 5 million visitors from over 180 nationalities, reflecting its status as a global destination that brings together people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Within this diverse environment, the “Futurists” will play a crucial role in engaging visitors, understanding their interests and delivering an experience that respects different languages and cultures, leaving a lasting impression that extends beyond the visit itself.
A different approach to attracting talent
Azza Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, Chief Operating Officer of the Museum of the Future, said: “Dubai has established its global standing by its ability to anticipate opportunities before they become clear, and to create an environment that allows individuals, ideas, and ambitions to turn these opportunities into reality.
“The Museum of the Future embodies this vision; it does not merely question what the future will look like, but extends to who will create it, how people will live, and how every person can see a place and a role for themselves in it.”
Al Nuaimi added: “As technology continues to expand the horizons of possibility, human curiosity, imagination, and communication skills play a fundamental role in exploring, understanding, and contributing to shaping these possibilities. These are qualities that cannot be measured by academic degrees, job titles, or years of experience.
“The ‘Futurists’ campaign reflects Dubai’s belief in the importance of discovering human potential beyond traditional paths. We are looking for people who may never have imagined working in a museum, but who possess precisely what the Museum of the Future needs.”
Applications
Applications to join the team will be accepted until 8 November 2026 via futureperfects.museumofthefuture.ae.
The selection process begins with online applications, followed by in-person assessments. A shortlist of candidates will then be created, with finalists taking part in an audition before a panel of expert judges.
Throughout the process, candidates will be assessed on their communication and listening skills, ability to think quickly, adaptability and interpersonal skills. The process will conclude with selected candidates being offered positions within the museum’s “Futurists” team.
The museum is also inviting members of the public to nominate people they believe possess the qualities it is seeking through the “Futurists” campaign on its official social media accounts.
