Rides at two Canadian theme parks have been closed after a man in the United States reportedly fell to this death from a Six Flags roller-coaster in Georgia.
A spokesperson for Six Flags says the Leviathan and Behemoth coasters at Canada’s Wonderland north of Toronto were closed Monday out of an abundance of caution and there is no timeline for reopening.
A spokesperson for La Ronde, formerly owned by Six Flags, says its Goliath roller-coaster has also been temporarily closed while it does a safety review with the ride’s manufacturer.
Several people were injured and one man died on Monday after witnesses described watching him come out of his seat on a ride at Six Flags Over Georgia, northwest of Atlanta.
Authorities and Six Flags did not identify the ride associated with the man’s death, but local TV stations showed video of passengers being evacuated from the Goliath roller-coaster.
Six Flags says similar attractions were temporarily closed across its parks, including Canada’s Wonderland.

Piece of magic history disappears
Kelly-Anne Riess 5 minute read Updated: Yesterday at 4:15 PM CDT
A piece of Winnipeg’s magic history has vanished, and internationally renowned escape artist Dean Gunnarson is offering a $500 reward to anyone who can make it reappear.
The plaque marked the birthplace of what has become the world’s largest organization of professional and amateur magicians, the International Brotherhood of Magicians, which was founded in Winnipeg more than a century ago.
Gunnarson said fellow magician and local magic historian Bruce Thompson discovered the disappearance Tuesday while on his way to work.
Thompson returned to inspect the site and found what appeared to be evidence it had been forcibly removed.

Free Press columnist transforms into killer clown for escape-room adventure

‘Would you ever try being a killer clown?”
This question came to me from my friend Lisa McMillan who, with her husband Chris, owns Killer Noob Escapes on Century Street. The escape rooms at KNE are immersive and narrative-driven and, oh yeah, horror-themed.
This seems like a good time to mention I don’t do horror. I hate clowns — who doesn’t? — and I don’t like being startled. I don’t visit haunted houses, mostly for the safety of others. My fight-or-flight reflex sometimes skews more fight, and I worry I’m a Fear Puncher.
But being on the other side of things? That, maybe, I could do. So I accepted Lisa’s challenge.

Carney: Trump’s ‘energy ceasefire’ could ‘de-escalate’ war in Ukraine
Kyle Duggan, The Canadian Press 4 minute read Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026
OTTAWA - Mark Carney thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for “his leadership toward securing an energy ceasefire" between Ukraine and Russia, the Prime Minister's Office said on Sunday.
But on the same day, Carney also expressed to Ukraine's leader that Trump's new diesel supply agreement with Russia undermines Canada's efforts to end the war in Europe.
Trump posted on his Truth Social account on Sunday that Ukraine and Russia have agreed to an "energy ceasefire," but did not immediately offer any details.
Carney expressed “strong support for this agreement," according to a readout from the PMO that followed a conversation between the two leaders. And on his own social media account, Carney offered that Trump’s newly announced “energy ceasefire” could help wind down Russia’s war against Ukraine.
