SHILLONG, Oct 16: In an effort to expand tourist activities beyond daytime sightseeing, the San Shnong Youth Welfare Organisation on Friday launched ‘Evenings at Elephant Falls’, a cultural programme featuring local music, storytelling, and art.
The initiative aims to offer visitors post-sunset entertainment while highlighting Khasi cultural heritage and providing local youth a platform to present their creative talents.
Commissioner and Secretary to the state government, Cyril VD Diengdoh, inaugurated the programme as the chief guest, in the presence of members of the youth organisation, advisers, and other invitees.
Organisers said the initiative is intended to promote Meghalaya’s cultural identity while enhancing the overall visitor experience at one of the state’s most popular attractions.
