Skip Bayless has given his verdict after the Oklahoma City Thunder kicked off their 2026/27 NBA season by beating the San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs reached the NBA Finals earlier this year before coming up short against the New York Knicks. But with Victor Wembanyama in their team, they are likely viewed by many as one of the top teams yet again in the new campaign.
But Spurs were beaten 116-104 on Tuesday and Bayless who stated that ‘The Thunder just bullied Wemby and his bullies in San Antonio’, has now been praising Oklahoma’s display, mentioning that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was by far the best player on the night.
Taking to X/Twitter to share his thoughts, Bayless said: “Obviously, once again, SGA was so good again. By far the best player on the floor with 32 points. Unstoppable. Made so many big, clutch, momentum-breaking shots.”
He continued by also praising Jared McCain, saying: “Jared McCain as he did last year in Game 3 at San Antonio, just owns that building, made six of eight threes.
“I love this team and I love what SGA said after the game. They’re hungrier than they’ve ever been.”
The Thunder will now look ahead to their second game of the season, which sees them clash with the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.
