John Harbaugh’s moment of truth is here after J.J. McCarthy sparks Giants quarterback controversy

Another disappointing Sunday ended with the Giants still in first place.

But who will John Harbaugh task with keeping them there?

The Giants failed to capitalize on their soft schedule for the second straight week, following last week’s tie against the Commanders by dropping a 34-27 decision to the Saints at MetLife Stadium. But after surrendering 34 unanswered points and facing a 24-point fourth-quarter deficit to a team with one win through the first five weeks, J.J. McCarthy turned embarrassment into optimism.

Entering in relief for Jameis Winston (14-of-26, 152 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, four sacks) with less than 12 minutes left, McCarthy put the team on his shoulders and the crowd in his corner.
