Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) removed the person who was responsible for an objectionable post against Supreme Court Chief Justice Surya Kant on the party’s official X account, saying that the matter is under examination.
KPCC President Sunny Joseph affirmed that that the Congress party has no disagreement with the impartiality of the judiciary.
Responding to the tweet by the Kerala Congress unit (which has now been deleted) demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Surya Kant, Joseph said, "The person responsible for an objectionable post against Supreme Court Chief Justice Surya Kant on the party’s official X account has been removed from the position. The post was published without the knowledge, consent or consultation of the KPCC leadership."

Social media posts expressing views contrary to this position do not reflect the stand of the KPCC leadership, he added.
In a post on X, the Congress's Kerala unit said, "Dear Surya Kant, if law and order is not your domain, resign now. We will find your replacement who can handle it."
The social media post was in response to the CJI's statement, as quoted by PTI, that the matter of law and order was not in his hands. The statement was in response to the unprecedented security curbs imposed by Delhi Police amid ongoing protests in the national capital seeking the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.
Earlier, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju posted a screenshot of the post and slammed the Congress over the issue, saying he had previously warned that the judiciary would be the party’s next target.
"Congress wants to destroy all the constitutional and democratic institutions of India. All Anti-India gangs are joining hands. All patriotic Indians will also come together," he said in a post on X.
