Green Bay Packers rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton didn’t hold back when discussing the tension between the coaching staffs ahead of Sunday’s 31-7 victory over the Chicago Bears. His remarks added another layer to a heated rivalry that already featured sharp words between Matt LaFleur and Ben Johnson.
The Packers entered the matchup with plenty of motivation after Johnson’s previous comments about enjoying victories over LaFleur. Green Bay responded with a convincing performance at Lambeau Field, leaving little doubt about which team controlled the afternoon.
Following the win, Dennis-Sutton was asked about the conversations between the coaches leading up to the game. The rookie defender made it clear that Green Bay wasn’t willing to tolerate the disrespect.

“What stays behind closes doors I’ll keep between us, but we don’t like to tolerate that s**t,” Dennis-Sutton said, according to Vince Lovergine. “It was a great game and glad we won.”
His response suggested the comments surrounding the rivalry had not gone unnoticed inside the Packers’ locker room. However, Dennis-Sutton declined to reveal exactly what was discussed privately.
The tension between LaFleur and Johnson has attracted attention since Johnson became Chicago’s head coach. His earlier remarks about beating LaFleur provided added context for the buildup to Sunday’s divisional showdown.
Green Bay ultimately delivered its response on the field, overwhelming Chicago in front of its home crowd. The result also followed pre-game comments from Packers linebacker Zaire Franklin about the rivalry’s bad blood. For Dennis-Sutton, the victory appeared to settle matters without requiring further explanation. His blunt comments nevertheless showed how seriously Green Bay approached the matchup against its longtime rival.
