A preliminary medical report has confirmed signs of alleged torture on a nine-year-old domestic worker in the Garden Town area of Lahore, on Saturday.
According to the medical report, the girl had swelling and marks of torture on her back,elbow and face near the eye, while signs of alleged torture were also observed on other parts of her body.
The report stated that the swelling and injury marks appeared to be approximately one day old. Officials said further investigation into the incident was underway.
Woman accused of abusing child arrested
A woman, identified as Neelam, who was wanted in a case involving the alleged abuse of a four-year-old child, has been arrested from the Hajveri area of Lahore, police said on Saturday. According to DPO Irfan Ali, the suspect had been at large for the past three days before police apprehended her during an operation in Lahore. Police officials said the arrested woman would be transferred to Sadiqabad and produced before a court for further legal proceedings.
