BATU PAHAT: A trailer driver was killed after his vehicle rear-ended a lorry on the North-South Expressway near Ayer Hitam.
Ayer Hitam Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Abd Rahim Razali said the 56-year-old man was confirmed dead at the scene by a medical team.
The accident occurred at 3.50pm at KM93.5 of the northbound North-South Expressway. The trailer was carrying wooden pallets, while the lorry was transporting a skylift.
Abd Rahim said the trailer hit the rear of the lorry, causing the wooden pallets to crush the trailer's cab and trapping the driver.
The lorry driver and his assistant, both in their 40s, survived.
