In a statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of lives in the roof collapse incident of a private school in Peshawar.
He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the early recovery of the injured, directing that all possible medical assistance be provided to them.
Earlier in June, at least 14 children were killed and several others injured when the roof of a tuition centre collapsed in Lahore’s Kahna area. Around 30 children were attending classes at the time. Construction work was underway on the upper floor of the building, and rainfall had further weakened the girder-supported roof.
On March 30, 2026, three children lost their lives and two sustained critical injuries when the roof of a house collapsed during heavy rain in Warishmi Kallah Mandan area of Bannu district.
