The trial of a 68-year-old Greek priest accused of revenge porn and threatening his 43-year-old former partner has been postponed until 29 October 2026, after his defence lawyer requested an adjournment because he remains in hospital.
Police arrested the priest in Grevena following a complaint by his former partner, who lives in Larissa and had reported his alleged behaviour to the Larissa Prosecutor’s Office.
The case took a new turn after the priest’s son claimed that his father had attempted suicide following the incident, prompting his hospitalisation. The son also maintained that his father was the victim, rather than the perpetrator, in the dispute.
Former Partner’s Allegations
The 68-year-old priest faces allegations of revenge porn and making threats against the 43-year-old woman.
According to available information, the priest does not deny that he had a relationship with the woman. However, he reportedly denies intending to retaliate against her by using material from their relationship, disputing the allegations against him.
Priest Cites Financial Dispute
The priest’s side has also raised an alleged financial dispute between the former partners.
He reportedly claims that the woman received an advance payment to produce religious icons but failed to deliver them.
These claims form part of the defence’s position and remain subject to examination during the legal proceedings.
The case is scheduled to return to court on 29 October 2026, provided the defendant’s health allows the proceedings to go ahead.
