Man and woman charged after cocaine worth £1.6m found in Glasgow flat raid

A man and woman have been charged after cocaine worth £1.6m was found during a raid in Glasgow.

Police Scotland confirmed officers executed a warrant at around 8pm at a property in Holm Street on Tuesday, where cocaine with an estimated street value of £1.6m was recovered, alongside a six-figure sum of cash.

A 29-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection and are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Detective chief Inspector Laura Sands said: “This significant recovery highlights our determination to protect the public by disrupting the trade of illegal drugs and preventing them causing harm in our communities.

“It also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“Information from the public is vital to help us continue this work and I’d ask anyone with concerns or information about drug crime in their area to report this to us.
