Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has already made a decision on his starting backline to face Real Madrid on Sunday evening.
This comes amid the understanding that the German intends to field the same defensive setup which took to the pitch against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.
Barcelona are of course currently facing up to something of a defensive personnel crisis, without the services of both Andreas Christensen and Eric García.
Jules Koundé has since also been ruled out of contention for El Clásico, having failed to recover from an ankle issue.
With his options severely limited at present, Hansi Flick has therefore been left with little choice but to depend on the same back-four which allowed four goals en route to defeat at the hands of PSG on Tuesday.
As per a report from journalist Alfredo Martinez:
‘Koundé will be sidelined against Madrid. Flick will repeat the defence he used against PSG.’
This means that hosts Barca will set up as follows at the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday evening: Espart – Cubarsí – Martín – Cancelo
Conor Laird – GSFN
