In a media landscape where men dominate top editorial positions, Ndih Maureen Teh is a trailblazer.
Known professionally as Ndih Maureen, she has just been appointed Editor-in-Chief at Canal 2 International, one of the country’s top private broadcasters.
The appointment, which cements her reputation as one of the most formidable female figures in Cameroon’s private audiovisual media sector, comes as no surprise.
Her journey to the top has been earned through nearly two decades of committed service from a field reporter to a news presenter and now Editor-in-Chief.
Born in Momo Division, North West Region, Maureen honed her craft at Equinox TV before joining Canal 2 International, where she has spent nearly 20 years as a field reporter and news anchor. Colleagues describe her as fearless, meticulous, and relentless in the pursuit of a story.
These qualities have earned her back-to-back awards as the station’s most hardworking staff member.
Her promotion to Editor-in-Chief has been met with approval across the media community. Colleagues say it comes as no surprise because she has all the qualities it takes.
Her appointment shatters an ancient notion that the Editor-in-Chief role is exclusively a man’s job.
Aside from the newsroom, Maureen serves as President of the Cameroon Association of English-Speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ), Douala Chapter, a position she has held for years.
For the mother of three, balancing motherhood responsibilities with leadership in two demanding roles embodies the modern Cameroonian woman who is defying limits.
As she takes the driver’s seat at Canal 2 International, Maureen Ndih is not just making news: she is shaping how it is made.
