WRI India Data Lab Connect, an initiative that brings together data, geospatial tools and local knowledge to help Bengaluru turn climate evidence into action, was launched on Monday (October 12).
WRI India said that the Data Lab Connect is designed around local needs to help organisations unpack climate-related problems and identify appropriate analytical approaches to strengthen climate resilience.
To support communities
It added that it aims to support work focused on enhancing resilience for vulnerable communities and people.
The Data Lab Connect will give guidance to help identify relevant data, analytical approaches and methods for addressing specific climate resilience questions, provide maps and spatial analysis to help organisations understand patterns, risks and vulnerabilities across Bengaluru and communicate findings more effectively.
It will also offer tailored geospatial and analytical support for specific problem statements, helping organisations apply evidence to their works.
WRI India said that it will support Bengaluru-based civil society and community based organisations, research institutions and think tanks, government agencies, funders, philanthropic organisations, private sector and implementation partners.
Interactive exhibition
The launch also featured an interactive exhibition, ‘From Evidence to Impact: How Data-informed Initiatives Enable Change’, showcasing how data is helping address some of Bengaluru’s pressing urban challenges.
Organised under Bangalore Climate Data Week 2026 (October 12–16), the exhibition will bring together urban practitioners, researchers, civil society and policymakers to explore how data can make cities more resilient and inclusive.
