GLENDALE, AZ - The Detroit Lions should be getting two starters back from injury after next week's bye, but could be without two contributors indefinitely after they suffered injuries in Sunday's 45-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Lions coach Dan Campbell said linebacker Devin White broke his forearm and receiver Tom Kennedy suffered a potentially serious knee sprain in the first half.
White appeared to injure his left forearm on a hit by teammate Chuck Clark on the final play of the first quarter. He was back in the linebacker rotation after a two-game absence to help in coverage on tight end Trey McBride, and was carted to the locker room after the hit.
"Doesn’t look good," Campbell said. "I think Devin’s probably going to need surgery, broken forearm, it’s unfortunate, man. I hate it, cause he was doing some good things for us in this game."
Kennedy was injured a few plays later when his right knee bent awkwardly when he was tackled on a punt return. He had two returns for 33 yards before he left. Amon-Ra St. Brown handled punt returns and Khalil Dorsey joined Jacob Saylors on kick returns in Kennedy's absence.
Campbell indicated Kennedy will undergo further evaluation Monday, Oct. 12, but said the initial indication is Kennedy suffered "a pretty good sprain."
"Neither one of them are going to be around for a little bit here, so I hate that, man," Campbell said. "Both players have done a really good job for us. T.K. I really thought hit it, man. We kind of challenged him on hitting some of these returns, and man, his first one was outstanding, and the second one, he caught it and he put his foot in the ground and I mean he took it to heart and it’s just, I hate it for him that, that happened.
"But I don’t think it’s long-, long-term. I think this is something that we’re going to miss him for a little bit. We’ll see."

The Lions expect to get safety Brian Branch and center Cade Mays back from injuries following next week's bye, after both returned to practice last week.
Branch has not played since tearing his Achilles tendon last Dec. 4. He started the season on the physically unable to perform list. Mays broke his right wrist in training camp and is on injured reserve.
The Lions are off next week, then have back-to-back home games against division rivals the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings.
