The NTT IndyCar Series has officially revealed its complete 2027 schedule, featuring 17 races, several familiar stops and a major international addition that will take the series back to Europe for the first time in two decades.
The biggest announcement is the addition of Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain, which will host IndyCar on July 18, 2027. The race marks a significant moment for the series as it continues looking for ways to expand its audience and bring American open-wheel racing to new fans around the world.
The 2027 season will begin on March 7 with the traditional trip to the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. IndyCar will then head to Phoenix Raceway on March 13 before visiting Arlington, Texas, on March 21, giving the series three consecutive weekends of racing to open the year.
The early portion of the schedule also includes Barber Motorsports Park, Long Beach and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course before the biggest event of the season.
Indianapolis 500 Remains the Highlight
The 111th running of the Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for May 30, once again serving as the centerpiece of the IndyCar calendar. The historic race remains one of the biggest events in motorsports and a major opportunity for drivers to establish themselves in the championship picture.
Following the Indy 500, the series will visit Detroit on June 6 before heading to World Wide Technology Raceway, Road America and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
The summer schedule then features the Barcelona race, followed by Portland International Raceway on August 1 and the Streets of Markham in Ontario, Canada, on August 15.
Nashville and Washington, D.C. Leave the Schedule
The new schedule also brings some notable changes. IndyCar will not return to Nashville Superspeedway in 2027, while the Washington, D.C., Freedom 250 Grand Prix remains a one-time event rather than becoming a permanent stop.
The series will instead feature a doubleheader at the historic Milwaukee Mile on August 28-29, giving teams two opportunities to earn valuable championship points during one weekend.
The season finale is scheduled for September 5 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in California.
Another important detail is that every IndyCar race will once again air on FOX in the United States. With a mix of ovals, road courses, street circuits and an international destination, the 2027 schedule offers a diverse challenge for drivers competing for the championship.
