MOSCOW, October 16. /TASS/. Azerbaijan wants to resume purchases of Russian gas from Gazprom, Vice President of State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Elshad Nasirov said at Russian Energy Week.
"We can proudly say that our cooperation with a giant like Gazprom is a very good example, because SOCAR is probably the only company in the world that first bought gas from Gazprom, then supplied gas to Gazprom, and now wants to buy gas again," he said.
Asked by journalists how much gas Azerbaijan would like to purchase from Gazprom, Nasirov said that such figures are not yet available. "This is simply a statement of the fact that we both buy and sell gas. There are no specific plans," he stressed.
