The Ashanti Sub-Transmission Line Maintenance Team of ECG has restored stable power supply to the Bekwai and Kuntanase enclave after repairing faults on the 33kV Bekwai 1 and 2 lines early Sunday morning, October 18, 2026.
The faults, which occurred on Saturday night, were located during a line patrol. ECG fixed the faults by replacing a shattered lightning arrestor and the repair of a broken high-voltage jumper at the first pylon on the Bekwai 1 line.

The repairs restored both interconnectors, enabling power supply to resume to eight affected feeders serving Kwamang, Unicem, Fukai, Abodom, Kokofu, Ghana Water, Boamang and Sawaba.
