The works aim to improve traffic safety and eliminate speed restrictions on railway infrastructure sections within the seven regions.
According to the announcement published on Monday, October 19, in the Electronic Public Procurement System (SEAP), the procedure is divided into seven lots, corresponding to the Bucharest, Craiova, Timișoara, Cluj, Brașov, Galați and Constanța regions, Economica.net reported.
The maximum estimated value of each lot is RON 584.5 million, excluding VAT. Seven framework agreements, each with a duration of 48 months, will be concluded following the tender.
“The procurement procedure provides for the conclusion of framework agreements at the central level of CFR SA, while subsequent contracts for the actual execution of the works will be concluded at the level of the regional branches. Financing is provided from the state budget, under budget title 51 – ‘Maintenance and operation of public infrastructure’, relating to the railway directorate. The works will be contracted and executed based on identified needs and allocated funds,” CFR SA said in a press release.
The value of RON 4.09 billion represents the maximum total estimated value of the seven framework agreements over the full four-year period, rather than the value of execution contracts already awarded, company representatives said.
