A gunman unloaded on a California news station early Tuesday morning, terrorizing a station already reeling from a similar shooting late last week.

Local police are investigating after a person fired several shots into the KBAK/KBFX newsroom last Friday night and early Tuesday morning.

No station employees were hurt in either incident, but the perpetrator of each attack remains on the loose.

Surveillance video shows a black vehicle pulling up to the station. The vehicle lingers and two minutes later several muzzle flashes are seen from the driver’s side window before the car peels off.

Police said ten shots were fired into a conference room and an office last Friday before additional gunfire pierced the station early Tuesday. The station said it is cooperating with police.

“We are cooperating fully with the Bakersfield Police Department as it investigates a shooting incident at our KBAK/KBFX studios Friday evening,” Jessica Belluci with Sinclair, Inc. said.

“Thankfully, no one was injured. The safety and well-being of our employees is our top priority, and we are taking appropriate steps to ensure a safe and secure workplace. We appreciate the efforts of local law enforcement as the investigation continues.”

Weekend anchor/reporter Shelby Martin reacted in an Instagram post early Tuesday.

“I am very grateful that my colleagues are safe and nobody was hurt in Friday’s shooting at the station,” she said. “We will continue to provide updates on the air and online.”

It’s unclear whether the shootings were linked. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bakersfield Police Department (661) 327-7111.
