Cairo – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi affirmed on Wednesday that Egypt's military efforts are dedicated to defending the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and do not include launching an attack on Yemen.
Speaking at the "Homeland and Citizen Security" session on the third day of the Egypt 2026 Forum, Sisi stated that Arab national security is indivisible. He emphasized that the stability of the Gulf states is of vital importance to Egypt from a national security perspective, and that Cairo's support for the Gulf states stems from shared Arab national security.
Sisi clarified that Egypt's military efforts are solely for the defense of Saudi Arabia and do not include launching an attack on Yemen. He explained that the intention is to defend the Kingdom's territory and borders, as well as the territory of any other Arab state that requests Egypt's assistance.
He added that Egypt's military efforts do not extend beyond Egypt's borders or to any other sister nation whose security and stability Cairo is committed to. He stressed the necessity of restoring stability in Arab countries, including Sudan, Libya, and Somalia.
