The Carolina Panthers could receive a significant boost to their passing game ahead of their upcoming matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, as wide receiver Jalen Coker continues to make progress in his injury recovery. Coker missed the team’s Week 4 game against the Detroit Lions but appears to be moving closer to a return.
Coker was spotted participating in the Panthers’ unofficial practice session on Tuesday. When asked about his injury in the locker room, the young receiver provided an encouraging update on his recovery.
“Feeling good, just gonna keep practicing every day and we’ll see what happens,” Coker said.

Coker suffered a quadriceps injury during the Panthers’ 21-18 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Following the game, he downplayed the severity of the issue, saying he did not consider it a “bad” injury.
The initial assessment suggested that Coker’s injury was relatively minor, yet he ultimately missed Carolina’s Week 4 victory over Detroit to give himself additional time to recover.
Head coach Dave Canales also offered an encouraging update on the young receiver following the Panthers’ Week 5 bye, indicating that Coker was on track to return. The additional recovery time during the bye week appears to have benefited his rehabilitation as he works toward rejoining the lineup.
The Panthers are scheduled to release their first official injury report for Week 6 on Wednesday. Coker’s participation in practice and his eventual game designation should provide a clearer indication of whether he will be available for the upcoming matchup.
The Carolina Panthers currently sit at the top of the NFC South with a 2-2 record. Coker’s potential return comes at an important point in their season, as the team prepares for a challenging test against the Eagles.
Having another receiving option available would give quarterback Bryce Young additional support in the passing game and provide the Panthers with another weapon to maintain their position in the division.
