After a long 15 years, Bollywood’s popular movie ‘The Dirty Picture’ is back in the news. Producer Ekta Kapoor has confirmed that the sequel will be made.
However, it is not yet confirmed whether Vidya Balan will be in the new movie or not.
The 2011 film ‘The Dirty Picture’ was a huge success with audiences and critics alike.
Inspired by the life of South Indian actress Silk Smitha, the film starred Vidya Balan in the lead role. It also starred Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor.
Vidya also won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film.
Recently, while talking about her upcoming film on Ranbir Allahbadiyar’s podcast, Ekta Kapoor revealed her plans to make ‘The Dirty Picture 2’.
She said that she had been thinking about making a sequel for a long time but could not find a story that she liked.
Now, she has found a story that she wants to present to the audience. However, Ekta has not yet revealed the story of the new film.
She has not made it clear whether the life story of Silk Smitha from the previous film will be retold on screen or whether the story of another woman’s life will be told.
