Daniel Dubois has picked Tyson Fury to beat British-Nigerian Anthony Joshua when the two heavyweights meet on December 11, although he admitted it was a hard call to make.
Dubois, who beat Joshua in 2024, gave his view to DAZN News ahead of his own rematch with Fabio Wardley this weekend for the World Boxing Organisation title.
He sounded unsure and said even choosing a winner was difficult. He also showed respect for both men, wished them luck and said the best man should win on the night.
“I’ll pick Fury (to win), but it’s hard to even do that,” he said
“Two veterans are going to have a big-money fight. To me, it’s not even a proper fight. It’s just business. Good luck to them and may the best man win.”
The fight will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and will be shown live worldwide on Netflix.
Dubois described the occasion as a business rather than a proper fight, with two veterans earning big money. The World Boxing Association belt is also expected to be at stake.
The 36-year-old Fury goes in with a record of 36 wins, two losses and one draw, with 25 knockouts. He retired after losing the rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, then returned and won twice in 2026, against Arslanbek Makhmudov and Mariusz Wach. His best wins remain those over Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder.
Joshua has 30 wins and four defeats, with 27 knockouts. He returned after losing to Dubois by beating Jake Paul, but a fatal car crash then claimed the lives of his friends Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.
His comeback came against Kristian Prenga, who knocked him down twice in the first round before Joshua stopped him in the second. The winner could face the other champions. Murat Gassiev holds the WBA regular title, Agit Kabayel is the World Boxing Council champion, and Filip Hrgovic holds the International Boxing Federation belt.
Usyk is the Ring Magazine champion and appears to want only one more fight.
