A 30-year-old Scottish woman was in the toilets when a Moroccan man, 45, allegedly hugged her without permission and grabbed her buttocks.
In response, the woman’s partner, 37, punched the man several times in the face.
The Moroccan was taken to the Santa Ponca health centre.
The severity of his injuries saw him transferred to San Espases Hospital in Palma where he required several stitches to areas above his eyes.
He also lost a tooth during the assault.
Ultima Hora also reported that he denied any inappropriate behaviour towards the woman.
He said he was in the bathroom when two women and a man opened the door.
He told the Guardia Civil that he asked them why they were trying to enter without permission.
One of the females then threw a drink that she was carrying into his face.
The man left the bar but the Scottish tourist then launched a furious assault resulting in him to losing consciousness.
