Guwahati, Oct 11: A drone attack involving multiple bomb explosions struck Mt. Horeb Camp in Myanmar in the early hours of Sunday, with the assault reportedly continuing for nearly two hours and causing damage to parts of the camp.
According to a statement issued by the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim, Provisional Government, Mt. Horeb, the attack began at around 2.30 am and continued until 4.30 am.
The statement claimed that around 60 bombs exploded during the attack, with some detonating mid-air or on trees, while others reportedly struck the camp directly.
Describing the incident, the group said the ground shook as the bombs exploded in succession and attributed the absence of casualties to what it called “divine intervention”. Parts of the camp were reportedly damaged in the explosions.
The Provisional Government alleged that the attack could have been part of a proxy war allegedly being waged by India, but said the circumstances surrounding the incident needed to be investigated. The allegation has not been independently verified.
The group has appealed to the people of Nagalim to pray in the wake of the attack.
There were no reports of casualties at the time of filing this report. Further details, including the identity of those responsible for the attack, remain unclear.
More details are awaited.
