The grand finale of "Miss and Mrs Doctor 2025" will take place at Le Méridien Dhaka on Saturday (24 October), bringing together women in medicine to celebrate leadership, creativity, communication skills, and talent.
The event will begin at 4 pm, with Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain scheduled to attend as the chief guest, according to the press release.
Dr SM Ziauddin Hyder, special assistant to the prime minister on health affairs, will also attend as a special guest.
Launched in 2025, the competition gives female doctors and medical students a platform to demonstrate abilities beyond clinical practice and academic responsibilities.
The initiative highlights leadership, personality, communication skills, creativity and social responsibility as important qualities for medical professionals. It encourages participants to develop these skills alongside their professional work.
Doctors at different career stages and medical students from across Bangladesh participated in the competition. They demonstrated confidence, abilities and creativity, and gained new experiences and opportunities to connect with others in the medical profession.
After extensive preparation and successive stages of the competition, the finalists will undergo their final assessment at the grand finale.
The judging panel will comprise model and actor Bidya Sinha Saha Mim; physician, debater and television presenter Dr Abdun Noor Tushar; physician, actor and writer Dr Ejazul Islam; and Universal Medical College Hospital Managing Director Dr Ashish Kumar Chakraborty.
Winners will be selected from the top 10 contestants and announced at the ceremony. The event will also recognise other participants' achievements and placements.
For those receiving the crowns, the awards will mark the culmination of their preparation and hard work. The initiative also recognises the participation, experiences and progress of contestants who do not win, giving them a platform to share their talents and personal journeys.
Dr Sheikh Soha served as the official coordinator of "Miss and Mrs Doctor 2025".
Dr Hasan Mahmud, chief executive officer of The Restrain, conceived the initiative.
