Oppo has launched its Pad Mini Matte Display Edition in India, while preorders have opened in Malaysia. The compact tablet features an 8.8-inch 144Hz OLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Oppo's Pad Mini Matte Display Edition is a new variant of the company's compact Android tablet, which was announced on October 14.
The tablet features an 8.8-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2,520 × 1,680 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a pixel density of 344 PPI. Lenovo's Legion Tab (Gen 3) has the same 8.8-inch screen size but a higher 165Hz refresh rate and a glossy finish.
Oppo lists peak local brightness of up to 3,200 nits. The matte surface is designed to reduce reflections and provide a paper-like feel when using a stylus.
The RedMagic Astra has a larger 9.06-inch glossy OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, while Oppo's tablet uses a matte panel to reduce reflections.
Oppo pairs the Pad Mini's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. As reported earlier, this is the only configuration currently listed for international markets. In China, the tablet is also available with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
The tablet has an 8,000mAh battery that supports 67W wired charging. It also has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The tablet runs ColorOS 16 and supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Its USB-C port uses the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard.
The Indian listing gives the tablet's dimensions as 194.4 × 132.4 × 5.5mm (7.65 × 5.21 × 0.22 inches) and its weight as 279g (0.62lb). In Malaysia, the listed dimensions are 194.38 × 132.38 × 5.46mm (7.65 × 5.21 × 0.21 inches), with a weight of 282g (0.62lb). Both listings show Lavender Purple as the available color.
Pricing and availability
Oppo's Indian store lists the Pad Mini Matte Display Edition for ₹94,999 (about $1,003). A report published before launch cited an expected price of ₹79,999 (about $847), although the official store currently displays the higher figure.
In Malaysia, the tablet is priced at RM3,499 (about $857). Preorders run from October 22 to October 29, 2026, with the first deliveries or store collections scheduled to begin on October 30, subject to availability.
Oppo is also offering a Smart Case and stylus as free gifts with the tablet. The Indian store lists the gifts at ₹3,999 (about $42) and ₹7,999 (about $84), respectively, while the Malaysian store lists them at RM199 (about $49) and RM299 (about $73). These are the listed values of the gifts, not separate prices charged when they are included in the offer.
