Even before Apple launched the iPhone Duo, it was already clear that Samsung was worried. Now that the device has been announced and is heavily backordered, the company seemingly feels that launching no fewer than six different foldable phones next year is its best way to fight back …
On the eve of the launch of the iPhone Duo, Samsung claimed it welcomed Apple’s entry into the foldables market and tried a weak counter that its own folding phones were lighter. The company also reportedly brought forward the launch of the Galaxy Z Trifold 2.
With demand for the iPhone Duo substantially exceeding supply, the Korean company appears to be planning a spray-and-pray approach to competing with the phone. Our sister site 9to5Google reports a leak suggesting that Samsung will launch half a dozen different folding phones next year.

9to5Mac’s Take
If accurate, there’s an air of desperation to this. However, the more competition in this market, the better. Any substantial innovations launched by Samsung will push Apple to match or beat them in future generations of the iPhone Duo.
