Note: Dryden is one win away from its first undefeated regular season since 2008, coincidentally the last time the program made a playoff appearance. Since then, the program’s highs and lows have included a four-year span without playing a football game. Now, the Cardinals sit at No. 1 in the 8-player Division 1 playoff-point standings after winning the Big Thumb Conference Blue title. Dryden faces North Huron in Week 9, and its victories already include projected playoff teams Deckerville and Kingston.

First three out

Concord (5-3), 28.482, No. 18
Central Lake (6-2), 28.339, No. 19
Rogers City (6-2), 26.821, No. 20

8-player Division 2

Mendon coach Bobby Kretschman chats with his team following Friday night's win over Colon.

Portland St. Patrick (8-0), 35.125, No. 4
Gaylord St. Mary (8-0), 33.786, No. 5
Marion (8-0), 33.625, No. 6

First three out

Adrian Lenawee Christian (4-4), 26.042, No. 17
Felch North Dickinson (4-4), 25.411, No. 18
Waldron (5-3), 24.833, No. 19

Note: Six undefeated teams enter the regular-season finale, the most of any division outside 11-player Division 1, led by Mendon (8-0). The Hornets take on Adrian Lenawee Christian (4-4) in their season finale. The three-time state champion Cougars, who last won the title in 2023, lost this matchup last year and missed the playoffs for the first time since transitioning to 8-player football. The Cougars sit outside the playoff cutline entering Week 9. A win would give Mendon its second straight undefeated regular season.

Lake Linden-Hubbell is one win away from its first undefeated regular season since 2016 and takes on Ontonagon (2-5). Bay City All Saints last completed an undefeated regular season in 1980. The Cougars look to end that drought on the road against Breckenridge (4-4). Defending state champion Portland St. Patrick looks to extend its 21-game winning streak on the road against Dansville (7-1). Gaylord St. Mary’s defense has allowed only eight points all season, and the Snowbirds look to complete their first undefeated regular season since 2017 with a road trip to Indian River Inland Lakes (5-3). Marion, a 2023 state finalist, hosts Kingston (5-3).
