CHERY MALAYSIA has launched the Tiggo Cross Sport Edition at RM91,800, with a running promotional price of RM83,800.
Based on the existing Tiggo Cross Turbo, the Sport Edition is essentially a styling package rather than a performance upgrade.
It adds a sportier front lip and rear lower treatment, while retaining the same turbocharged powertrain, chassis, cabin equipment, and safety package as the Turbo variant.
Under the bonnet is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, producing 147PS and 210Nm. Chery claims fuel consumption of 6.3 litres per 100km, while the fuel tank holds 51 litres.
The Turbo specification also brings 18-inch alloy wheels, while the cabin includes dual-zone automatic climate control, a dedicated touchscreen panel for the air-conditioning system, and a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support.
Infotainment is handled through the Tiggo Cross’ integrated display setup, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other equipment includes multi-colour ambient lighting, faux-leather upholstery, six speakers, a multifunction leather steering wheel, wireless phone charging, USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, and voice commands.
Roof rails are also fitted as standard, adding some additional practicality for carrying larger items such as bicycles or other outdoor equipment.
Since the Sport Edition is based on the Tiggo Cross Turbo, it also carries over the existing safety package.
This includes seven airbags and 16 ADAS functions, comprising Front Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Assist, and others.
Three colours are available for the Sport Edition: Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, and Khaki White. The RM91,800 selling price is accompanied by a seven-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, together with free labour for six scheduled services. The current RM83,800 promotional price is subject to terms and conditions.
The Chery Tiggo Cross Sport Edition is currently on display at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, from Oct 7 to 11 this year.
