Bestway Group officially introduced Chinese automotive giant Geely Auto to Pakistan at a launch ceremony at Park View City, Islamabad, attended by the Group founder Sir M. Anwar Pervez, the Group Chairman Lord Zameer Choudrey and the senior executives from both organisations, industry leaders, distinguished guests and members of the media. The launch marks Bestway Group’s expansion into the automotive sector, bringing Geely’s engineering expertise, technological innovation and vehicle range to the Pakistani market.
Bestway Automotive, Geely’s sole authorised distributor in Pakistan, will oversee Geely’sintroduction and development, including vehicle sales and after-sales support. The partnership also paves the way for local assembly, with Bestway preparing its facility in Karachi for the next phase of Geely’s operations in Pakistan.
At the heart of the launch is Geely Auto’s global brand philosophy, “See the World in Full”, which reflects the belief that mobility is about more than getting from one place to another. It is about creating better experiences and enabling people to explore new horizons, possibilities and perspectives. This vision shapes Geely’s approach to inclusive mobility, bringing together engineering, technology and design to help people experience more of the world around them.

Irfan Sheikh, Group Managing Director, for Non-Banking Businesses at Bestway Group, Pakistan, said, “Tonight is a proud moment for everyone at Bestway. This partnership brings together two organisations with complementary strengths, with Bestway drawing on decades of experience in investing in and building businesses in Pakistan, and Geely bringing its global expertise in the automotive industry. We are delighted to introduce three Geely models to the Pakistani market – the EX2, EX5 and Starray EM-R. Their unveiling marks an exciting first step in this journey. Our aim is to have locally assembled Geely vehicles on Pakistan’s roads within the next few months. We see tremendous potential in this partnership and are committed to establishing Geely as a recognised and trusted name in Pakistan.”
The three models cater to different mobility needs. The Geely EX2 is a compact, fully electric hatchback designed for urban driving, while the EX5 is a fully electric SUV. The Starray EM-R features range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) powertrain technology, combining electric driving with the flexibility of an onboard petrol engine.

Haider Choudrey, Group Chief Executive Officer, Bestway Group, said, “Geely’s arrival marks an important milestone in Bestway’s longstanding commitment to Pakistan. Through its investments in sectors such as cement manufacturing and banking, Bestway has invested more than $350 million in Pakistan, creating over 20,000 jobs and supporting livelihoods in the last three years alone. With Bestway Automotive, we are extending this commitment to the automotive sector. Our partnership with Geely will open up opportunities for local manufacturing, employment generation, skills development and a stronger automotive supply chain, while offering Pakistani consumers greater choice and access to global automotive technology.”

Evin Ye, Vice President of GAIC and Managing Director of Geely Auto ASEAN said, “Pakistan is our first market in South Asia, and we see significant potential here. We are delighted to begin this journey with Bestway, a partner that understands the market and shares our commitment to customers. This is much more than a business arrangement; it is a long-term commitment to grow together, strengthen customer support and bring safe, intelligent and high-quality mobility to Pakistani families.”
Through this partnership, Bestway and Geely aim to build lasting customer relationships and contribute to the development of Pakistan’s automotive industry.
