Sanaa – The Houthis announced Wednesday evening that they had targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with a ballistic missile, which has been subjected to similar attacks in recent days.
The Iranian-backed group said in a statement that the missile hit the airport "precisely and directly," a claim that has not yet been confirmed by Saudi Arabia.
They also announced the launch of three ballistic missiles at what they described as "gatherings of Saudi forces in the Ras al-Ara and al-Mudharabah areas," indicating that there were deaths, injuries, and damage to vehicles, without any Saudi confirmation of this account.
In contrast, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted a Civil Defense spokesman as saying that teams responded to the fall of ballistic missile debris in Riyadh after it was intercepted and destroyed, confirming that "the Houthi militia launched it."
The spokesman explained that the incident resulted in "injury to a resident of Arab nationality and limited material damage to a residential building and a vehicle," and that the procedures approved for dealing with such cases were implemented.
