All eyes will be on world number one Luke Littler in Germany today.
First held in 2008 in Frankfurt, the European Championship is a major ranking PDC darts tournament that was originally created for European players to try theur luck against the world’s top-ranked throwers.
Since then the format, and the venue, has changed, with it now seeing the top 32 players in the European Tour Order of Merit battle it out in a straight knockout tournament.
Last year saw Gian van Veen defeat Luke Humphries 11-10 in a thrilling final set decider, but the defending champion went out yesterday to man-of-the-moment Luke Woodhouse.
The winner will be decided today and much of the focus will be on world number one Luke Littler - the European Championship is one of the only titles missing from his glittering trophy cabinet.
But he’ll need to be on top form, with Krzysztof Ratajski his next opponent.
