Sierra Leonean rapper and politician Natasha Beckley has conceded defeat in her bid for the All People’s Congress (APC) Deputy Chairperson position in Port Loko District, thanking delegates who supported her and pledging to continue her political journey.
In a public Facebook post, Beckley expressed gratitude to the district for giving her the opportunity to pursue her ambition, describing the experience as an important lesson in leadership and personal growth.
“Port Loko District, thank you for allowing me to give this aspiration my all,” she wrote.
She also thanked delegates who voted for her, promising to return to meet them personally and express her appreciation.
“As I came asking for your votes, I will return to say thank you personally,” Beckley stated.
Despite the outcome, Beckley indicated that she was not abandoning her political ambitions, adding: “All hope is not lost. Our journey continues.”
Beckley, popularly known as Swadu, announced her intention to contest for the APC Deputy Chairperson position in Port Loko District in 2025. In an earlier report published by Sierraloaded on August 8, 2025, she said her candidacy was intended to challenge stereotypes about women’s participation in leadership and encourage young people to pursue their ambitions.
Her decision to seek the position marked a move from her established career in entertainment into a more prominent role within the APC’s district leadership structure.
Beckley has previously contested for political positions under the party. In April 2023, she secured four delegate votes in the APC’s Port Loko mayoral flagbearer contest.
